.Accessing Databases

To access any of Cañada Library's Databases, like JSTOR or Gale Virtual Reference Library, you will need go to the library's homepage:

1. Select the Articles tab.

2. Click on the database name you want to access from the Browse Databases From A-Z pull down menu.

If you are off campus, you will need to log in with your library card number and pin (last for digits of your phone number). If you cannot remember your pin, please contact the circultion desk. No library card? Click here for more information.

Putting an asterix (*) at the end a word will give you different versions of that word. In the example below, using the wildcard edu* will give you results like education, educator, educated, educate, and educating.

Boolean Operators

Boolean Operators

“OR” expands your search. It is useful when you are searching for alternative terms.

"AND" will narrow down you search.

While you won't use it very often, "not" can be helpful when you are getting many results that are unrelated to your topic.
