Welcome!

In Middle College, you get a head start on your higher education, and so you need a head start on doing research.

Librarians can help you:

Find information in books, periodicals, reference sources, on the internet, and in other less common formats efficiently and effectively.

Evaluate the information you find in a number of ways, including how relevant it is to your research, how credible it is, how persuasive it is, how current it is, and other criteria.

Use a wide variety of compelling information strategically and ethically to support arguments in your assignments.

We hope all Middle College students will try to make the library part of your daily routine. It's a great place to study, relax, or read a good book! Ah, yes: the librarians are crazy about Middle College students and instructors, so you'll get lots of help.

Middle College's Research Guide:

Getting Started in an Academic Library

Welcome!

A great part of being in college is having the college library at your disposal. We want you to learn to love your library. Wherever you end up studying after Cañada, you will want to get to know your libary. Now is the time to build the habits of a researcher and to learn how to use an academic library (academic as opposed to high school or public).
