Finding Scholarly, Peer Reviewed Articles on Psychology

 Today we will be reviewing how to find scholarly articles in the Library databases:

Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection  This collection includes psychology articles from academic journals, magazines, and newspapers.

 JSTOR  Our largest collection of academic journals on a wide range of topics.

 ProQuest Science Journals  This is a collection of science articles from academic journals, magazines, and newspapers.

Ethnic NewsWatch   Articles from minority and ethnic newspapers in the U.S.  In English and Spanish.

CQ Researcher  In-depth, unbiased coverage of current events and controversial issues.

To access the Library databases off campus, you'll need your library card number and PIN (the last 4 digits of your phone number)

For better searching try these tips

• Use quotes to search for a phrase: "racial profiling"
• Use an asterisk * to “truncate,” for example musc* search for muscular, muscle, muscles, muscularity)
• Use OR to search for variations on a word, for example Hispanic OR Latino OR Mexican American
• Look under Content Types in the left hand column to filter your search by Academic, Magazine, or Newspaper articles.
