Curbside Services and Requesting Library Items: Step 1: Request Library Items

This guide will outline the process on how to request library items and schedule a curbside pickup once ready.

What you can request

Students, faculty and staff can request :

  • Books from Circulation Stacks
  • Course Reserves (Textbooks)
  • Graphic Novels
  • Reference
  • Children’s
  • ESL Readers
  • Spanish Language Books
  • DVDs

Items checked out won't be due back until the end of the semester. 

Please note that this service is for Cañada Library materials only; we are not able to request items from other libraries at this time. If you would like items from CSM please click here for more information.

Requesting Cañada Library Items:

See below for a step-by-step guide to requesting items for pick-up or see the video below:

  1. Search for your item in OneSearch from the Cañada Library homepage.
  2. Sign into your account using your OneLogin credentials.
  3. Browse the search results and locate the item you would like to place a hold on. Click on the title of the item to see more detail.
  4. Under "Get It" click "Request."
  5. Click "Send Request."
  6. Your will see a green confirmation box when your request has been placed. You will receive an email when your request is ready, and then you can proceed to Step 2 to schedule a pick-up appointment.

 

 

How to request technology

Students enrolled in Fall 2020 are able to request Chromebooks, graphing calculators, and Wifi hotspots for the semester.

Fill out the technology request form.  All requested items may not be ready at the same time depending on availability.

Note: Hotspots are all checked-out. You will be added to a wait list if you request one.

 

Special software 

If you need special software only available on laptops (e.g., Excel, Adobe Creative Suite), please submit a technology request form and indicate the course and special software needed.
