Curbside Services and Requesting Library Items

This guide will outline the process on how to request library items and schedule a curbside pickup once ready.

What you can request

Students, faculty and staff can request :

  • Books from Circulation Stacks
  • Course Reserves (Textbooks)
  • Graphic Novels
  • Reference
  • Children’s Books
  • ESL Readers
  • Spanish Language Books
  • DVDs

Items checked out won't be due back until the end of the semester.

Items can be requested from and delivered to any of the three college libraries in the District:  Cañada, College of San Mateo, and Skyline.  

Requesting Cañada Library Items:

See below for a step-by-step guide to requesting items for pick-up or see the video below:

  1. Search for your item in OneSearch from the Cañada Library homepage.
  2. Sign into your account using your OneLogin credentials.
  3. Browse the search results and locate the item you would like to place a hold on. Click on the title of the item to see more detail.
  4. Under "Get It" click "Request."
  5. Click "Send Request."
  6. You will see a green confirmation box when your request has been placed. You will receive an email when your request is ready, and then you can proceed to Step 2 to schedule a pick-up appointment.



How to request technology

Enrolled students are able to request Chromebooks, Laptops (PC), graphing calculators, and WiFi hotspots for the semester.

Step 1:  Complete and submit a Technology Request.  All requested items may not be ready at the same time depending on availability.

Step 2:  District IT Services verifies your enrollment and prepares the requested equipment

Step 3:  You will be contacted by the library through your student email account ( when your equipment is ready.

Step 4:  Schedule an appointment to pick up your equipment

Special software 

If you need special software only available on laptops (e.g., Excel, Adobe Creative Suite), please indicate in the technology request form the course you are taking and the special software needed.
